We had the chance to sit down with Carpet One, one of our amazing Dream Home sponsors, to talk about their involvement with the Red Deer Kinsmen Club and the Dream Home.
Take a look at the interview below:
Tells us a little bit about Carpet One, what the company does, and its values:
Red Deer Carpet One Floor & Home is a family-owned business that has been helping Central Albertans beautify their spaces since 1978. At Carpet One, our vision is to help our customers personalize their space. A house doesn’t feel like a home until you have made it your own, and we are here to help do that.
We supply and install carpet, vinyl flooring, area rugs, quartz and granite countertops, tile, paint, rugs, wallpaper, blinds, draperies, and much more – we help guide customers through a huge selection so they can express their personal style. So, whether it’s cork flooring in a kid’s bedroom, a custom tile shower, hardwood flooring for a new dream home, new carpet tile for a local restaurant, or just refreshing the kitchen with a coat of C2 Paint, Carpet One Floor & Home in Red Deer is here to help!

How did Carpet One get involved with the Red Deer Kinsmen Club? What’s its relationship with the Kinsmen Club?
We helped with the Kinsmen Dream Home in 2015 and when the opportunity came up again this year, we jumped on it! The Kinsmen Club has been making a huge impact in this city for 80 years! We couldn’t be prouder to partner with them again.
What was Carpet One involved with in regards to the 2017 Dream Home?
We got to help with the interior design of the house, and we installed the laminate flooring, carpet, all the tile throughout the house, including the custom tiled shower, tile floors, and beautiful kitchen backsplash. We installed the thin brick on the fireplace, and we supplied an area rug to finish off the look.
Is Carpet One involved with any other community initiatives?
Women’s Outreach Center, Central Alberta Refugee Effort, A Better World Canada, Red Deer Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Build a Kid to Cure, Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre, The Youth & Volunteer Centre,The Red Deer Food Bank, STARS Ambulance – these are all organizations we’ve partnered with and supported.
What empowers you to give back to the local community?
Part of our guiding principles at Carpet Colour Centre is the belief that we need to leave this world better than we found it. It’s for that reason that we are actively involved in community development locally and around the world.
The ownership, management, and staff at Carpet Colour Centre support causes that are important to us and that make a difference to those less fortunate than ourselves. Red Deer has been so good to us. We’ve been blessed and we want to share that blessing.
Will you continue to stay involved with the Dream Home in the future?
Helping out with the Kinsmen is a blast: we get to try new design ideas and do something great in the community at the same time!
