Gratitude is something that we feel on a daily basis by being part of the Red Deer Kinsmen Club. No matter how many times a piece of gratitude is shared with us, It’s something that will never feel less special. Our friends at KDM Construction did just that this past week when we interviewed them as our next sponsor spotlight. Not only have they have played a large part in our Dream Home for the past three years but their kind words about our organization added a pep to our step this week. For that, we want to reciprocate the feeling and recognize them for all the amazing work that they’ve done for us. Help us share some gratitude for KDM Construction and read our latest blog post on how they have contributed to the Red Deer community for over 25 years.
KDM has been serving the Red Deer & Area for over 25 years. They are a family run business that specializes in Home Exterior Applications such as, siding, soffit and fascia, roofing, windows/doors etc. Their mission and vision are simple—they want to be known as a company that does not focus on the bottom line. Profit is not a bad thing, but to them, doing a quality job that makes the homeowner as well as their builders happy, is more important than anything. Their ‘slogan’ is “Making Central Alberta homes beautiful since 1991” and they are not happy with the outcome unless you, their customer, is happy.
How you are supporting this year’s Kinsmen Dream Home:
KDM has supported three Kinsmen Homes and hopes to be able to do more! They often approach their suppliers with projects that they are more than helping KDM achieve. Gentek supplied all of the siding, soffit & fascia and Cap N Flash did all of the metal bending for trims etc. KDM supplied the labour by the owners, Darcy and Kim, their daughter Maegan and two of their subcontractors, Clifford & Daniel.
What it means for KDM Construction to be actively involved in the community:
KDM has always tried to support whatever they can whether it’s time, product or sponsoring. They want to be able to give back to the community that has supported them for the last 25 years.
“Kinsmen is an excellent way of giving back, as the funds raised by the Home are for the community and help so many people and organizations.”
What’s something about KDM Construction that people might not know about? and are there any memorable stories that you want to share regarding KDM Construction and its involvement with the Red Deer Community?:
Something that a lot of people do not know about KDM is that they have been in Red Deer since 1991. KDM originated in Fort McMurray in 1988 and moved to Central Alberta in 1991. They have been fortunate over the years to work for a lot of great builders in the area & have not had to ‘pound the pavement’ looking for work. KDM provides an unlimited workmanship guarantee for however long they’re in business. KDM also provides free estimating and for products they do not install, they have the connections to get it done.
Over the years, Darcy and his team have been a humble bunch. Their customers often give their thanks in a nice card, some home made goodies or perhaps a genuine Thank You. These are all great and make their finished project that much better and gratifying. They do not actively seek out recognition or a pat on the back for a job well done. Their work speaks for itself and there really isn’t anything they can’t handle.
“Helping people is what makes us who we are and we can only hope that should that day come, someone would be willing to lend a hand to help us.”
Thank you KDM for all that you do and continuously remaining a great partner for the last three dream homes. It goes without saying that we at the Red Deer Kinsmen appreciate your support and would always be there to lend you a helping hand as well.
