anuary seems to be the hardest months to get through. Not only is the weather not cooperating with us but it seems like our drive to get out and do anything seems to be a bit on the lazy side. Well, we’re here to shed some inspiration on our lovely and lively City of Red Deer that will hopefully get you out and moving during these hard times. Sylvan Lake Winterfest

Join the Town of Sylvan Lake for Winterfest, there will be various activities happening around town for our community to come together. Brave the cold to watch the Polar Bear Dip, have some family fun, watch the fireworks, or participate in all the activities.

Freeze the House Charity Bonspiel

Presented by Fas Gas Plus, the 6th Annual Freeze the House Charity Bonspiel is a jam-packed three-day curling “funspiel” for curlers of all skill levels. Complete with a Friday night mixer, Saturday night dinner & dance with live entertainment by Jamie Woodfin, raffle, silent auction, and a chance to meet world-renowned celebrity curler John Morris, this event is a highlight of the Red Deer winter season!

Every Monday Junior 6yrs+ (Mondays 6-7:30pm) & Fresh Meat Adult (Mondays 7:30-9pm).

Wear sports attire. We also have derby gear for you to borrow on a first come, first serve basis, as well as a waiver to be signed that will cover you insurance-wise for the first two practices. And not to worry, there are designated trainers who will show you the ropes. You may want to bring the following if you have your own: Helmet, Roller Skates, Mouth Guard, Elbow & Knee Pads, Wrist Guards. The monthly fee is $50/month. MS Whisky & Wine Festival
