Community Involvement

Local Impact

Over the last 15 years, the Kinsmen Club of Red Deer has donated over $1,000,000 to local groups, programs, and initiatives in the city of Red Deer and area. From the Kinsmen room in the NICU at the Red Deer Hospital to the annual Grow Boys Leadership Conference, from Camp Alexo and Youth HQ to Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre, the Kinsmen Club of Red Deer is always assisting a wide range of projects, programs, and initiatives.

Recent Partnerships

In 2022 the Red Deer Kinsmen donated more than $75,000 to assist numerous groups, organizations, service clubs and non–for-profits.  We have had the privilege to work with groups like:

Donations & Contributions

Since 1937, the Kinsmen Club of Red Deer has been contributing its efforts to serve the community.

1940

From 1940 – 1944, Red Deer ranked 11th nationally in fundraising for the “Milk for Britain” campaign. Red Deer chartered the Rocky Mountain House club.

1957

The tenth playground completed in Red Deer by the Kinsmen.

1968

“Skate for Kinex”, the precursor for “Skate-A-Rama” began, Skate-A-Rama continues today and helps support Red Deer Pond Hockey and Red Deer Minor Hockey

1978

Long-term commitments were made to installing another ice surface at the Dawe Recreation Complex ($187,500.00) in 1978 – 1979.

1981

1981 – 1982 marked the first two Dream Home draws, netting over $250,000.00.

1987

In 1987 – 1988 Kinsmen committed $250,000.00 towards twinning the Kinsmen Community Arenas.

1993

$200,000.00 committed over 5 years toward the Kinsmen Library Link. The Kinsmen Link joined the existing city library building and the old Firehall.

2011

Family Services Of Central AB $100,000 – Towards the development of the Kinsmen Family Place

Blackfalds Abbey Centre – $100,000 – help build the Indoor play Centre

2014

Big Brothers Big Sisters $95,000 – Renovations to Camp Alexo

2017

Aspen Heights Micro Society – School program donation

Donations made to Red Deer BMX for a new starting gate and Red Deer Boxing Club for new gear
