As we get older, the commitments in our lives become more complex and time consuming. We go to school, work jobs, run businesses, raise families, volunteer, and have the occasional night on the town. Because of this hectic schedule, it’s difficult to come together and meet like-minded people.

We need a place for people to meet and enjoy each other’s company so they can build a network of peers. It’s important that they have a space to relax in a stress free environment. These people are working on becoming the best versions of themselves while helping their city through social initiatives and good will deeds. Without a community of people around them holding them accountable, it may be difficult for them to work as a team to achieve their goals.

Fortunately, the Red Deer Kinsmen recognize the need for citizens to better themselves while developing life-long bonds and giving back to the community. Our city has been rapidly expanding over the years and more men and women are realizing how important clubs can be for their own development as a citizen. Whether it’s through a social activity like hockey or golf, or a meeting over some drinks, the Red Deer Kinsmen want to continue the legacy created by their parents and grandparents.

We love meeting up and coming up with ideas on how we can make Red Deer a better place. Besides volunteering at various locations like the Ronald McDonald House and the Red Deer Food Bank, one of our biggest projects is the Dream Home Lottery. Each year, we work with local businesses to give ticket holders the chance to win amazing prizes, the biggest one being a brand new home. Once the project is complete, we work with local groups and charities to fund projects in the community (we recently helped buy equipment for Eastview Middle School’s new playground) and help out wherever we can.

One of the Kinsmen’s core initiatives is to grow and inspire leaders in the community. We do this by hosting bimonthly meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month from September to June. If you’d like to join a growing team and become a member of the Red Deer Kinsmen Club, visit us at https://reddeerkinsmen.com/contact and fill out the form. We’ll let you know when the next meeting is!
