Michael J. Fox

Yes, Family Ties and Back to the Future’s very own Michael J. Fox was born in Edmonton, Alberta! The actor is also a producer and activist, and he even has his own foundation called the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Brett Kissel

Born and raised in Flat Lake, Alberta, Brett Kissel is a country music artist on the rise. After debuting his single “Started with a Song” with Music Warner Canada, it became the most added song at Canadian country radio in its first week. He has won a Juno Award, Country Music in Alberta Awards, and has even performed with names like Brad Paisley!

Mark Messier

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Mark Messier is a former professional hockey player who spent a quarter of a century playing for teams such as the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks.

Jann Arden

Singer, songwriter, actress, and broadcaster Jann Arden is a multiple Juno Award-winning woman from Calgary, Alberta. She is a member of Canada’s Walk of Fame and she is also a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Terry Chen

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Terry Chen has starred in popular television shows such as The 100 and House of Cards, as well as a number of films like I, Robot.

Jillian Hennessy

This Canadian actress and musician was born in Edmonton, Alberta and has been in a number of movies and television shows such as Law & Order.

Evangeline Lilly

From Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Evangeline Lilly is a Canadian actress and author who has won a Screen Actors Guild Award, and received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal as Kate Austen in the series Lost. Lilly even starred in the popular movie The Hobbit.

Tegan and Sara

Tegan and Sara are a singing duo from Calgary, Alberta with eight albums underneath their belts. The twins are both songwriters and can play multiple instruments. They even earned a Grammy nomination in 2013!

Cory Monteith

Cory Monteith, the popular actor and musician who portrayed Finn Hudson on the successful television show Glee, was born in Calgary, Alberta.
