Ingrid Sudlow wins the Early Bird Prize of a trip for two to Hawaii in the Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery

RED DEER — Congratulations to Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery Early Bird winner Ingrid Sudlow who has won a trip for two to Oahu, Hawaii, courtesy of Marlin Travel.

Red Deer Kinsmen Craig Kinney pulled Ingrid’s ticket from the draw barrel in front of members of the local media at 10 a.m. today at the Dream Home.  

Another lucky Kinsmen Dream Home ticket purchaser, Janet Rangen, won 1,000 Air Miles last week courtesy of Century 21 Advantage.

The grand prize of this year’s lottery is a fully developed 2,612 sq. ft. home, valued at more than $600,000. A total of 87 prizes, valued over $700,000, are up for grabs this year. 

The 2009 Red Deer Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery is 50 per cent sold with less than a month left before the big draw on New Year’s Eve.

Residents can show their support for Habitat For Humanity by purchasing a Red Deer Kinsmen Dream Home lottery ticket this week.

Tickets are available until December 31, 2009:

 Kinsmen helping Habitat for Humanity build Dream Homes for deserving Red Deer families

 RED DEER — Few people realize that the Kinsmen Club of Red Deer helps build more than one Dream Home every year. Ten dollars from the sale of every Red Deer Kinsmen Dream Home ticket sold this week will support Habitat for Humanity, which helps low-income working families buy affordable homes.

“Habitat for Humanity works with volunteer labour to build simple, decent homes for Red Deerfamilies,” according to Executive Director Cynthia de Boer. “Each receiving family must devote 500 hours of ‘sweat equity’ into building their home.  In 2010, donations made by the KinsmenClub of Red Deer will help build homes for four more families in our community.  These small affordable homes are a dream come true for these needy families in our City,” added de Boer.

This week’s advertising sponsor is Marlin Travel. “We are very proud of our continued association with the Kinsmen Club of Red Deer, and we encourage you to purchase your 2009 Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery ticket,” said Cindy Lowe with Marlin Travel. “This week, Marlin Travel and the Kinsmen are supporting the community by donating $10 from every ticket sold to the Habitat For Humanity,” added Lowe.

Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery helping bring comfort to local residents and their families

 RED DEER — The Red Deer Hospice Society is meeting the physical and emotional needs of local families facing life-threatening illnesses thanks in part to Kinsmen Dream Home sponsors and ticket buyers.

 Ten dollars from the sale of every Red Deer Kinsmen Dream Home ticket sold this week will support the Red Deer Hospice Society.

 “There is no set fee to stay at the Red Deer Hospice and no one is ever denied care due to personal financial situations,” according to Brenda Watts, Red Deer Hospice Executive Director.

 “We depend on donations and fundraising to meet our annual operational budget. Donations from groups such as the Red Deer Kinsmen allows the Hospice to continue offering end-of-life care to all who are facing this difficult time,” added Watts.

 This week’s advertising sponsor is Melcor Developments.

 “The Red Deer Hospice provides a vital service to many families in our community,” according to Guy Pelletier with Melcor Developments, “We are proud to support the Kinsmen Dream Home and encourage everyone to purchase their tickets to benefit the Red Deer Hospice.”
