The Kinsmen Guide to Bursaries & Campus Clubs!
The school season is finally here! While that statement might get a mixed response from students, there's one aspect of school that nobody enjoys: the cost. With the amount of money needed for tuition, books, and other fees, higher learning is more expensive and competitive than ever before. Kin Canada doesn't want this to prevent young people from going to school; that's why they've created the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund, a bursary that helps those attending post-secondary institutions, including university, college, and technical school.Read More
Community Spotlight: Red Deer Museum & Art Gallery
What would we do without the Red Deer Museum & Art Gallery? Besides being a place where people young and old can learn about Red Deer, it also teaches those new to Central Alberta about the rich history of our area. A popular attraction year round, the facility has also become a favourite of many children (including some of our youngest future Kinsmen and Kinettes) and young teens, thanks to the exceptional programs that occur.
Because the Museum & Art Gallery are a non-profit and admissions are based on donations, support from the public is a big part of their success. We thought we'd take a moment to speak on their importance and help spread awareness on this vital place in our community.
Everything You Need to Know About the Kinsmen Meetings!
A big part of the Kinsmen Club is our bi-monthly meetings. We all have busy lives, but these events allow us to catch up and form lifelong relationships . They also allow us to come up with new ideas as to how we can improve Red Deer and the surrounding area through good works projects. A majority of our members are in their 20's, 30's and 40's; we also have guys who are married with children and others who prefer a bachelor lifestyle, making us a group made up of many diverse backgrounds. We thought we'd take a moment to let you know about our first meeting of the year, as well as the general format of the meetings to come.Read More
Looking Back at 1 Lazaro Close!
Before we begin our announcements for 2015's Dream Home Lottery, we wanted to take a moment and look back at last year's successful campaign. 2014 was one for the books. We're proud that many so people in Red Deer and the surrounding communities got the opportunity to take a tour through 1 Lazaro Close, last year's grand prize, and see what could have been their dream home.
Community Spotlight: The Red Deer Food Bank
For years, the Red Deer Food Bank has been instrumental in making sure families don't have to worry about feeding themselves or their loved ones. And although they've been successful, like many non-profits, they still need your help. While they do receive some assistance from groups like the Kinsmen Club, most of their contributions come from everyday people who give what they can.
They've had such a large impact on the community and are always doing great things, so we wanted to make sure they get the attention that they deserve.
Celebrating Kin Kanyon!
Whether you’re in the mood for a bike ride, a walk with your dog, or you want to have fun with the kids at the playground, Kin Kanyon is the best place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Red Deer. You can walk through the seemingly never-ending trails and have a blast experiencing the natural beauty of the area regardless of what season is (that being said, we love the Kanyon the most during the summer season.) To celebrate our favourite time of the year, we thought we’d take a moment to acknowledge one of our favourite parks in the city and look back at some of the projects we've helped fund.
The Red Deer Public Library: A Brief History
The Red Deer Public Library: more than just a place to grab a new book. Through their numerous events and programs, they've become a great place to meet like-minded people and have done amazing things for our community over the years—two characteristics that the Kinsmen also hold in high regard.
We want to take a moment to give thanks to everyone at the Red Deer Public Library, as well as highlight some moments from their history that the Kinsmen were involved in.Read More

New in Town? Discover the Easiest Way to Make Lifelong Friends
As we get older, the commitments in our lives become more complex and time consuming. We go to school, work jobs, run businesses, raise families, volunteer, and have the occasional night on the town. Because of this hectic schedule, it’s difficult to come together and meet like-minded people.
