In the words of one of our amazing Dream Home 2017 sponsors, great partnerships result in superb ventures.

We were lucky enough to be able to partner with JELD-WEN® Canada Windows & Doors this year to create the 2017 Dream Home.

Here’s a little bit of background about the innovative company:

The company was founded by Richard “Dick” Wendt, an entrepreneur who learned how to manage a manufacturing company under the guidance of his father, Caradco executive Lester Wendt.

In 1960 when the plant was sold at an auction, Dick and his four business partners bought many of the assets and named the new company JELD-WEN. After just two years and only 15 employees, JELD-WEN® quickly began to gain a reputation of producing reliable products. The company became successful enough that it began to acquire new manufacturing facilities and expand its product offering.

The company’s success rests on its philosophy that still stands today: the deliberate decision to use every bit of raw resource for high-value purpose.

Community Involvement

JELD-WEN® is committed to investing in their local communities. In 1969, the JELD-WEN Foundation was established and continues  to be dedicated to providing financial assistance through grants, scholarships and matching employees’ voluntary United Way donations.

“Thanks to the long-standing partnership between Larkaun Homes,  Executive Home Building Centre, and JELD-WEN Windows and Doors, we at JELD-WEN are pleased to support the ongoing Red Deer Kinsmen Dream Home initiatives.

With over 40 years of experience delivering quality products to the Red Deer region, the relationship we have come to enjoy with  both Larkaun Homes and Executive Home Building Centre supports the realization of our vision to lead the global building products industry. We work with great people to create superior products, delivering excellence in all that we do.”

Environmental Stewardship

Forty years ago,  JELD-WEN® perfected a proprietary process for using wood waste to make moulded wood fibre interior door facings.

This innovative company continues to develop and implement revolutionary ideas to products that allow them to:

  • Minimize waste
  • Maximize efficient utilization of materials
  • Minimize our impact on environmental resources
  • And so much more
  •

They are leaders in “Carbon Footprint” reduction, support forests by planting nearly 3 million trees in the past two decades, and they are members of the Green Building Initiative. We are proud to have partnered with such a fantastic company to make this home come to life!
