About Us
Meeting Times
Club meets first and third Tuesdays of each month September thru May at the Kinsmen Community Centre (of course!), 4726 -34th St., just around the corner from Kin Kanyon, Red Deer, AB.
We have come a long way since February 20, 1920, when Hal Rogers and 11 men gathered for a meeting at the Namking Cafe in Hamilton, Ontario. The fellowship groups evoved into a service club and ultimately a nationwide organization of individuals interested in fellowship, networking and community service. Originally and for quite some time, the membership age was capped at 40. The idea was to avoid being an "old boys club" and keep fresh ideas and encouraging young businessmen to better themselves and the community.
In the 21st Century the Kinsmen Club has continued to evolve with the age cap gone and projects keeping time with the new challenges our communities face. With a growing population, Red Deer's public purse is straining along with many recreational facillities. Many of the new playgrounds and sporting facillities you see are funded completely or partially with funds raised by the Kinsmen Club of Red Deer. The Hospital and long term care facillities receive equipment and funds raised by our volunteer organization.
A large part of being in a group like the Kinsmen is fun. We really do put the FUN in Fundraiser. The members enjoy the public work and meeting all types of people and have great socials and family events that complete the package. New members are always welcome. We encourage men and women of all ages to consider becoming our "Kin". Talk to one of our members or go to the sign up page to learn more about what the Kinsmen Club of Red Deer can do for you, and what you can do for the club.
